Data deletion: Lucy Studies

If you commented on a post by @luc.ymarina or sent her a message, we may hold your Instagram username and ID, the text you wrote, and Lucy's replies, for up to 30 days. Here is how to have it deleted sooner.

How to ask

Either:

• On Instagram: send @luc.ymarina a message saying delete my data; or
• By email: write to lucy@johnbruno.net with your Instagram username and the words "delete my data".

What happens

1. We delete your username, ID, messages, comments and Lucy's replies to you from our log.
2. We do this within 30 days, usually within a few days.
3. We confirm by a reply on Instagram (if you asked there) or by email.
4. Lucy stops answering you.

What we cannot delete for you

• Your messages and comments on Instagram itself. Delete them in the Instagram app (hold a message, then Unsend; or delete your comment).
• Text already sent to Anthropic to draft a reply is kept by Anthropic only for a limited time under its own policy, and not used for training (see the privacy policy).

Business account owners

Lucy Studies does not connect to anyone else's Instagram or Facebook account. If you ever granted it access, remove it in Instagram: Settings and privacy, Website permissions, Apps and websites, then remove "Lucy Studies". Then email us and we delete anything linked to it.
